Product Return

Rapid Return™
This is an innovative approach of returning reprocessed devices to hospitals more quickly and efficiently by integrating with the hospital's existing supply chain. Unlike Ascent's "Client-owned" return process (see below), products on our Rapid Return™ program arrive in original box-quantities, not individual single-unit-of-measure.

Rapid Return™ works hand-in-hand with our Advantage™ O.R. collection program which supplies Ascent with a constant supply stream of incoming devices from our 1,000+ hospital customers nationwide. This incoming stream of products allows us to build an inventory of products by manufacturer and part number used by our partners.

Title to products collected through Advantage™ changes to Ascent upon removal of the collection container from a hospital's facility. Once arriving at Ascent, the container contents are evaluated and the hospital is immediately able to buy from our inventory the closest box quantity of the exact products they have just sent. The products just arriving are then placed into the reprocessing system and are added to our inventory weeks later.

Rapid Return™ allows hospitals to reduce the turn-around time from, in some cases, over thirty days, to less than seven. This time reduction alone can contribute to as much as 30% more savings for our hospital partners, not to mention the increase in collections from Advantage™.

Client-owned Device Return
This is a program where hospitals retain title to the actual products they collect for reprocessing. The client-owned program is available only for specific devices, such as EP catheters and requires a longer turn-around because hospitals must wait for the reprocessing operation to take place for each product. Unlike the Rapid Return™ device return program, no inventory of product is maintained.
