Stryker Sustainability Solutions recognizes Practice GreenHealth as the premier organization for enabling more environmentally responsible practices in healthcare. Practice GreenHealth is unique among international organizations to push for more sustainable solutions in healthcare. Stryker Sustainability Solutions supports Practice GreenHealth and recently served as host sponsor of the 2011 CleanMed conference in Phoenix, which gathered some of the most powerful advocates of cleaner practices in healthcare.
Under Practice GreenHealth, the Greening the OR initiative has targeted the Operating Room as a key area where improvements to financial and environmental waste can take place. Stryker has sponsored this initiative from its inception, and continues to support this.
With the assistance of individuals at member facilities and across the healthcare sector, Practice GreenHealth recently published a series of Guidance Documents that provide benefits, potential barriers and viable strategies for greening the operating room.
